The process of developing codes and standards does not happen in a vacuum. Quite the contrary…it is an open process and very much depends on participation from all sides. It is also a valuable endeavor for those involved who gain experience and knowledge beyond what any training can provide. In this interactive presentation, participants will hear from a daily user of the standards who is actively involved in the development and revision process about the value this activity brings. In addition, attendees will leave with a better understanding of the revision process itself.
At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the basic revision process NFPA standards go through, and the commitment required to participate.
  • Appreciate the value that being involved in the process brings and how to get the most from it.
  • Demonstrate the ROI participation in the process brings.
