Design, Fire Pump, or ITM School Scholarship Application

Training Scholarship

AFSA Florida created the Training Scholarship for AFSA Florida Contractor members to aid in training technicians for their career. A limited number of scholarships have been allocated to this program and will assist students in attending the beginning and intermediate design schools, NFPA 25 Essentials or Advanced Workshop, or NFPA 25 Fire Pump Workshop  taught by AFSA National.

Eligible Contractor members will select an employee and they will complete the application together. Applications will be judged by the Public Education & Awareness Committee’s Scholarship Sub-Committee.

The retail value of this package is up to $3,500 (per student).

Applicant Eligibility Requirements

  • The AFSA Florida Training Scholarship is open to individuals employed by AFSA Florida Member Contractor companies.
  • Company must be an AFSA National and AFSA Florida Member in good standing.
  • Scholarship funds are payable to the employer; the recipient must enroll within the calendar year.
  • Recipients will be ranked based on the level of demonstrated need deemed by the committee.

Scholarship Contest Deadline

Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2026.

Entry Details

  1. Scholarship entries are ONLY accepted online through the AFSA Florida Training Scholarship website.
  2. Entrants must submit a completed entry form with all required information. Before scholarship funds are awarded, all information submitted on the entry form by the entrant will be verified. The student will be disqualified if any false or misleading information is submitted on the entry form.

Winner Selection

Scholarship winners’ applications will be reviewed by the Public Education & Awareness Scholarship Sub-Committee.

Notification

  • AFSA Florida will contact each winner’s employer by email and phone.
  • Once you are confirmed as a winner, AFSA Florida will send you the appropriate forms to complete. AFSA Florida will cover the training registration fee and hotel expenses. Employer will be responsible for airfare and per diem. All forms and processes must be completed within sixty (60) days of the winner notification, or your scholarship is forfeited.
