Contractor Experiences

AFSA Florida is committed to advocating for fair, consistent, and code-compliant fire protection practices across the state. Our association has gained influence in Tallahassee through the hard work of our Board and our members.  We have a lobbying firm that has been extremely effective at making positive changes for our contractor members.  The one thing that we always need in order to effectively advocate is REAL LIFE examples of issues our contractor members are dealing with in our day to day operations.  We have the ear of leadership, but we need to know about challenges you face to doing profitable business.

If you've encountered permitting challenges, engineering concerns, or would like to highlight a jurisdiction with efficient processes, we want to hear from you.  Our Expedited Permit Bill was born out of several of our Board members speaking about which jurisdictions are doing things right.
